Dr Adam Gordon is a VMO in gastroenterology at The Alfred and Sandringham Hospitals, where he is also involved in teaching and research. Adam is an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University Medical School at AMREP (Alfred Medical Education and Research Precinct). His private practice is based in Moorabbin and he works at several other locations in the Bayside area including Bentleigh, Hampton and Parkdale.
Adam graduated from his MBBS degree at Monash University in 1997 with honours. He subsequently completed his advanced training in gastroenterology at The Alfred Hospital in 2006. Adam then completed his MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) at Monash University in 2009.
Adam is a member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), the Australian Medical Association (AMA), Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA). Adam is a participant in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP).
Adam’s practice incorporates general gastroenterology and hepatology, endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy). Adam has a special interest in bowel cancer screening and has significant experience in this area.
The practice performs hydrogen breath testing (for carbohydrate malabsorption disorders such as fructose and lactose malabsorption), and breath testing for the bacteria Helicobacter pylori (a bacterium that can reside in the stomach and is associated with abdominal pain, stomach ulcers and stomach cancer).
