He completed his undergraduate training in South Africa at the world renowned Baragwanath Hospital before undertaking further studies in Europe where he also became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His specialist training was completed in Western Australia before fellowships in Brisbane, Sydney and the United States where he worked with colleagues from Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Washington universities. He holds conjoint lecture positions at various Australian universities where has received numerous awards and has a keen interest in translational molecular and clinical research which has been published and presented internationally.
