Investing in Health, Building for Growth Nambour Selangor Private Hospital has successfully launched a new Day Patient Rehabilitation Program as part of its commitment to improving the size and range of quality rehabilitation services available to patients. The program is designed for patients who have had an illness, surgery or a long hospital stay and require a multidisciplinary team approach to assist with their recovery. The team includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, speech pathologists and exercise physiologists who work with treating rehabilitation and pain medicine doctors at the hospital. The aim of the new day patient rehabilitation program is to help each patient optimise their health and independence. The Day Patient Rehabilitation Program builds on the opening of twenty new private rooms in February this year and the addition of new rehabilitation medicine physicians, Dr Zeshan Ali and Dr Catherine MacIntosh, who have commenced in private practice at the hospital. They join our highly experienced rehabilitation and pain medicine specialists; Dr Peter Georgius (Director), Dr Vanessa Harrington and Dr Tony Tampiyappa. As the Sunshine Coast hinterlands most comprehensive rehabilitation facility, Nambour Selangor Private Hospital is able to offer a broad range of inpatient, day patient and outpatient services to the local community. Services are available for patients following orthopedic, spinal and cardiac surgery, neurological and pain related conditions, trauma and general reconditioning. Salary sacrifice, or before-tax contributions, is an arrangement between you and your employer. You consent to reduce your gross salary by a nominated amount, which your employer uses to increase their super contributions for you. Why do it? Amounts you salary sacrifice to super are generally taxed at 15%, which may be lower than your income tax rate. It also reduces your taxable income creating further tax savings. Will it affect my government benefits? Salary sacrifice contributions to super are included in the income assessments for many government assistance programs, including income support payments. This means that any amount you salary sacrifice may be included in your income assessment for that benefit. What now?
