FUN AND FITNESS CSI wins the Ramsay Health QLD Innovation in Education Award for 2016 Rachel Edwards from the Staff Development team at John Flynn Private was recently awarded the Queensland Innovation in Education Award for the Clinical Scene Investigation Project (CSI). CSI is run each month at John Flynn Private as a way of linking the National Standards to the practical care that nurses provide. “CSI is an unfolding Case Study approach to the NSQHS National Standards, using an interactive forum which encourages the attendees to become ‘clinical detectives’. It encourages critical thinking, self-reflection, analysis and synthesis of theory with practice, from an objective perspective. It also draws on human factors principles to encourage discussion around the events taking place,” explained Ms Edwards. Demonstrating the ongoing success of this program, the Ramsay Training Institute (RTI) have standardised the program and now offer it to other Ramsay hospitals throughout Queensland. This Agreement represents the first of its kind for Ramsay, covers all our facilities in Australia, France and the United Kingdom, and builds on our mutual approach to innovation through novel commercial models. Health care is changing and becoming more globally connected with an increased focus on innovation, collaboration and partnerships. With this comes a need for greater focus on disease states and broad based solutions that solve some of the world’s toughest challenges supporting the physicians and patients we serve. An exciting and novel inclusion within this agreement is a ‘Value Creation’ component which is being deployed simultaneously with the commercial terms. This transformational concept represents a desire by Ramsay to work with JJMD more closely to co-develop solutions and deliver innovation. As a result of this Global Agreement, a number of Value Creation projects are already underway under the tutelage of the in-country Ramsay / JJM organisation, and supported by a Global Contract Management Committee. Ben Travers has been appointed as a dedicated resource representing JJMD globally in a newly created role of Global Account Director for Ramsay Health Care. Ben was formerly the head of JJMD in New Zealand and will be working alongside the in-country teams within Ramsay facilities globally. “I’m excited by the opportunity that this unique global agreement offers both Ramsay and Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices to transcend borders, work more closely together and deliver innovative solutions and advanced services and outcomes to more patients”, said Ben.
