FUN & FITNESS Mildura’s Name is up in lights A program that promotes courtesy and interaction in the hospital system has won Mildura Base Hospital’s highest honour. The “hello my name is…” program was rolled out after a member of Mildura’s Aboriginal community shared her story of how she presented at the emergency ward with her toddler – and no one introduced themselves to her when she arrived. As a result, the “hello my name is…” project has been rolled out across the hospital with 200 staff completing the program that engenders respect between patients and staff. Elaine Heinrich, Executive Assistant Mental Health and Maternity Services Educator Sandra Doyle were also singled out as outstanding staff members in the hospital’s Quality Award honours.
