HOSPITAL NEWS Mt Wilga registers with NDIS Ramsay Professional Services (RPS), located at Mt Wilga Private Hospital has become a Registered Provider of the NDIS. Working with participants aged 14 years and over, the RPS team has had over 86 referrals since commencing in December 2016. Services include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, speech pathology and behaviour support. 12 The Ramsay Way 2017 | 02 MEDICAL RECORD SCANNING AT HUNTERS HILL Hunters Hill Private have recently implemented a new solution where their completed medical records are sent offsite and scanned to become digitally accessible in “the cloud”. Using cloud based software provided by Iron Mountain, Hunters Hill no longer store any paper medical records onsite. A digital copy of the record can be retrieved by authorised people immediately and from anywhere. Hospital Finance Manager, Ayaaz Thaliph says: “This means a move forward with changing technology. The new system enables quick, easy and reliable access to the hospital medical records. “We maintain complete traceability of each record throughout the entire process, we can even track where the courier is located. Once a record is collected by Iron Mountain, it is available to see on the portal within 48 hours. The physical records are stored in Iron Mountain’s archiving facility.” Lorrie Mohsen, CEO said: “The NDIS is about ensuring people with a disability have choice and control over the providers they use. “With our knowledge, experience and expertise in allied health services, we are excited to be expanding our team to meet the demands of people living with a disability in our community”. Sarah Collison, NDIS Therapy Manager said: “The rollout to the full scheme has been both challenging yet rewarding for our allied health therapy teams. “We have been able to assist a number of participants to achieve their goals for independence and access the supports they need to live an everyday life”. Mt Wilga Rehabilitation Hospital is now a registered provider of the NDIS.
