The Ramsay Way - Winter 2017

Bike Travel for Staff at Joondalup Joondalup Health Campus (JHC) has introduced a new travel smart initiative called ‘urbi-bike’. The scheme allows staff to hop on a bike at JHC or other urbibike stations, ride and return to another station. The initiative is part of a one year trial that will see the City of Joondalup partnering with urbi-bike to roll out bike share facilities at a number of other locations including nearby Edith Cowan University, the HBF Arena and Joondalup Lakeside Shopping Centre. The urbi-bike racks at JHC were the first to be deployed in the state and have been installed in two different locations, including at the front of the public hospital. JHC Wellness Coordinator Sarah Robinson said the initiative supported staff to stay healthy and fit and remain environmentally friendly. The Ramsay Way 2017 | 02 17 COMMUNITY NEWS Electronic Bed Board Portal The Northside Group has been first to move with putting in place an electronic bed board portal - an innovative initiative to streamline the admission process and to excel in customer service. The Easy Access admissions team have been working with IT to produce a new Electronic Bed Board Portal. Information is extracted from Meditech and presented back to the admissions team to provide a real time view of occupancy across the four Northside Clinics. The team can drill down into a ward to obtain a view of discharges and planned admissions and view their forecasted room availability. The introduction of this portal has enabled the admissions team to increase visibility of occupancy and better plan their admissions and discharges across all four sites. The portal was developed by the in-house IT Development Team. Trying out the new urbi-bikes onsite at JHC are Wellness Coordinator Sarah Robinson with Manager of Support Services Calum McLeod.
