Springfield ranks no.1 for Patient Choice Springfield Hospital has been recognised as Private Healthcare UK Patients’ Choice for 2012. This is an independent website which compares private hospitals throughout the UK and allows patients to leave detailed reviews on the positive and negative aspects of each hospital. Patients’ Choice recognises those hospitals and clinics that deliver excellent customer care and a great patient experience. The selection criteria include the achievement of an overall patient rating of 4.5 or higher out of a total of 5 on the Private Healthcare UK reviews website. Springfield scored a very impressive 4.96 out of 5. Coming top of all hospitals included on the website, Springfield are now one of only 6 hospitals and clinics throughout the UK who will be entitled to display the UK Patients’ Choice logo on their website. AUTUMN 2013 TRW 11 Fiji benefits from Ramsay/Rotary Partnership Ramsay Health Care recently partnered with the Rotary Club of Berrima to send a container of medical supplies, surgical gowns and medical equipment to a hospital in Fiji. This delivery was the first in what is expected to be an ongoing program supporting developing communities in Australia or overseas. Dr Jemesa Tudravua, the Medical Superintendent of CWM Hospital in Suva was very happy to receive the container. “On behalf of the Ministry of Health, CWM Hospital and the people of Fiji, I would like to extend to you our most sincere appreciation for the donation of one 40 foot container load of medical items from Ramsay Health Care and the Rotary Club of Berrima District.” He wrote: “The medical items are timely and will meet some urgent consumables needs we currently have. The items will be very useful in the provision of patient care services from the hospital to the people of Suva, as well as Central and Eastern Fiji.” Ramsay Health Care has recently partnered with Rotary in order to establish an efficient and effective program of distributing medical equipment and goods to needy communities in Australia and overseas. The agreement came out of Ramsay’s and Rotary’s joint desire to establish a mechanism for the responsible donation and reuse of hospital and medical equipment and supplies which are no longer required by Ramsay. Caboolture interfaces with Cambodia Through its corporate social responsibility program Ramsay is also providing financial contributions towards the costs of delivery. Jenny Harper, CEO of Southern Highlands has been instrumental in this initiative. “We have been sending surplus equipment overseas with Rotary for some years now and we thought it would be a good idea to extend the idea further”. In March another container of surgical gowns, drapes, patient lifters and day surgery equipment is heading to Fiji courtesy of Nowra and Cairns hospitals. For any information on this initiative or if you have items for donation please contact: Sue Panuccio on panucciosue@ ramsayhealth.com.au Operation Interface is a non-government organization sponsored by the Australian and New Zealand Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
