The purpose of the Strategic Attractiveness Council was to present an overview of the French government’s economic policy, but above all to share ideas and work with major foreign CEOs on economic policies; labor market reform; and improving the attractiveness of France as a place for business to invest. Ramsay Health Care has recently finalised the acquisition of a controlling interest in leading French private hospital operator Générale de Santé. Chris said France was an attractive opportunity for the Company to invest in as it had a strong well-respected health care system, an ageing demographic and a growing demand for healthcare services. The long awaited development, which includes 64 new private single rooms with ensuites and provides elevated views over the Dandenong Ranges, also provides six new operating theatres, 170 additional car spaces and will help the hospital to meet the increasing demand for healthcare services in Melbourne’s burgeoning north eastern community. With the additional rooms, Warringal grows to a 215 bed facility and doubles its operating theatre capacity. Hospital CEO Petra Snelleman said Warringal had been operating at full capacity for several years and this expansion would help to meet the growing demand for private hospital services in the region. “The hospital has for several years struggled to meet growing demand for services, and these new facilities provide us the ability to care for more patients in an improved environment,” Petra said. The redevelopment includes an entirely new four storey building constructed adjacent to the existing hospital with a multilevel subterranean carpark. Following completion of the new wing, Warringal has now commenced the upgrade of the South Theatre Block to the contemporary standard of the new Wing. Following this project, in early 2015 an additional State of the Art Endoscopy Theatre and Day of Surgery Admission Centre will be completed.
