DEVELOPMENTS Strathfield opens new theatres STRATHFIELD PRIVATE’S NEW $9.9 MILLION THEATRE DEVELOPMENT WAS OFFICIALLY OPENED LAST MONTH BY STRATHFIELD STATE MP CHARLES CASUSCELLI. Mr Casuscelli welcomed the hospital’s new theatre additions as well as six new world-class surgeons and surgical assistants who complement the existing Strathfield team. And he pointed out that increasingly, private health care was providing affordable health care for more Australians than ever before. “More than 11.7million Australians now have private health care and 5.6 million people with private hospital cover live in households with a total annual income of $50,000 or less,” he said. 4 The Ramsay Way - 2014 | 02 Dudley set to make waves as the Hydrotherapy pool takes shape THE $1.45 MILLION DOLLAR PROJECT, FUNDED BY THE COMMONWEALTH GOVERNMENT IS WELL UNDERWAY AND IS EXPECTED TO BE UP & RUNNING BY OCTOBER. The Rehabilitation team made good of the opportunity to get up close to the construction site and are delighted with the development to date. Along with servicing private patients undergoing rehabilitation, the hydro pool will be accessible to community groups in need of the therapeutic benefits provided by hydrotherapy. The local community, who have not had access to a hydrotherapy pool for a number of years is watching with interest as the project develops. Port Macquarie Private Development underway CONSTRUCTION ON A $3.3-MILLION UPGRADE OF PORT MACQUARIE PRIVATE HOSPITAL’S REHABILITATION UNIT IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY. Federal Lyne MP David Gillespie turned the symbolic first sod in April. The works include the extension of the current rehabilitation facility for post-surgery and post-stroke, a hydrotherapy pool, increased gym area, extended multi-purpose area and 10 extra single occupancy rooms. The extensions will ensure greater flexibility for the area’s private health patients and more services for extended in-patient programs, as well as the introduction of a day rehabilitation program. The project is being co-funded by the Federal Government under the Health & Hospitals Fund Regional Priority Round.
