MOVEMENTS AND APPOINTMENTS RICHARD RYAN Richard Ryan has been appointed to the position of Chief Executive Officer at North Shore Private Hospital. He takes over from Greg Brown, who was appointed Operations Executive Manager for Sydney Metropolitan Hospitals last year. Richard has been the Deputy Chief Executive Officer at North Shore Private Hospital since April 2015, settling into this role extremely well and resulting in this well-deserved appointment. Richard joined Ramsay North Shore Private Hospital in April 2005 as Nursing Unit Manager of Level 1 South (Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Ward) and Assistant Director of Clinical Services before moving to Kareena Private Hospital and more recently St George Private Hospital as the Director of Clinical Services. Richard was also responsible for the clinical services bid for Northern Beaches Private Hospital and he has made a significant contribution to North Shore Private Hospital since his return. Richard completed the Future Leaders course in 2009. HELEN LESIRGE Helen LeSirge has been appointed Human Resources Manager for Victoria. Helen has been a major contributor to the company over the past six years, initially at the National HR Office in Brisbane and for the past 18 months in Victoria. In Helen’s time in Victoria, she has built solid working relationships with the Victorian Hospital and Operations Executives. Helen’s role has some important outcomes for 2016, including responsibility for negotiating a new nurses enterprise agreement. Having prior involvement in previous EA negotiations in Victoria and New South Wales will greatly assist her to lead this process. 22 The Ramsay Way 2016 | 02 Healthcare, and has also worked as Senior Midwife at Westmead Public as well as Maternity Services Manager at Westmead Private strong commercial focus and I am confident that he will provide our hospitals with strong and consistent HR support consistent with “The Ramsay Way” principles. George also has relevant experience in enterprise bargaining processes which will be highly relevant to his role. DANE RETIRES KERRY NEWTON Kerry Newton has been appointed Director of Clinical Services at Strathfield Private Hospital. Kerry has a wealth of nursing and midwifery experience; holds a Masters of International GEORGE DIAKOS George Diakos has been appointed Human Resources Manager for New South Wales. George is an experienced HR/ IR practitioner with wide HR management experience in the retail sector. He also has a NIKKI FIELD Nikki Field has been appointed Director of Clinical Services at Mt Wilga Rehabilitation Hospital. Nikki comes to Mt Wilga with over 15 years experience in Ramsay facilities, most recently as Manager Anaesthetics and Recovery at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital. LEANNE ROWLANDS Leanne Rowlands has commenced as Warringal’s new Director of Clinical Services. Leanne has over fifteen years’ experience in acute health care leadership, most recently as Director of Clinical Services and Midwifery, Epworth Freemasons. Leanne’s professional career commenced at Alfred Health, after which she undertook post graduate qualifications in OR at Austin Health, moving into OR Management at Cabrini, St Vincent’s, Epworth Eastern, during which time she completed additional Post Graduate qualifications in Infection Control and Business Management, gaining promotion to DCS at Epworth Freemasons from 2012 until 2016. Leanne is currently undertaking the Masters of Health Administration. LORRIE MOHSEN Lorrie Mohsen returns to Mt Wilga Rehabilitation Hospital as CEO. Lorrie has most recently been Hospital Manager at Hunters Hill Private Hospital and before this was Allied Health Manager at North Shore Private Hospital. Lorrie began her career with Ramsay Health Care at Mt Wilga in 2007 as Executive Manager – Day Program and in 2009 as Health, Safety and Environment Manager. Dane Huxley CEO at Mildura Base Hospital has announced his retirement, due to illness, effective from 8 July 2016. In an outstanding 16 year career with Ramsay Health Care, Dane was the first CEO at Mildura Base Hospital and served as CEO of this busy regional facility for the majority of his time with Ramsay. He also held the role of CEO and Acting CEO at a number of other hospitals including Warringal; Lake Macquarie and Albury Wodonga Private Hospitals during the period. In Mildura, Dane ensured that the Sunraysia community had a well-functioning, valuable hospital which served the community with excellent medical, surgical, maternity, emergency and mental health services. He worked tirelessly with local and state governments as well as community organisations, to ensure the best for the Mildura community and to this end, was instrumental in the $21m capital expansion of the hospital and doctors’ accommodation as well as the establishment of onsite specialist clinics. He also played a major role in the renewal of Ramsay’s contract with the State in 2014. He was a high standing community citizen, serving on several external committees and boards including as Chairman of the Sunraysia Modernisation Project; the Mildura Wentworth Arts Festival; the Mildura Rural City Council Audit Committee; the Mildura Development Corporation and the Northern Mallee Primary Care Partnership. Dane also assisted Ramsay Health Care with other projects and his experience in hospital management and particularly the management of a public hospital and public contract has been invaluable. His knowledge and management skills will be greatly missed. Ramsay Health Care congratulates Dane on an outstanding career and wishes him all the very best.
