Special recognition for Ramsay Volunteers Greenslopes Private volunteer Pamela Davis received a special Lord Mayor’s Australia Day Award this year. The Award pays tribute to the special people in Brisbane who have gone above and beyond in their civic duty to help improve the lives of others. Pamela is the current treasurer of Greenslopes volunteer group the Diggers Dozen and is instrumental in helping the group raise funds for the Gallipoli Medical Research Foundation. Pamela can also be found driving the GPH Express, a volunteer run shuttle bus service that runs from the hospital to the Greenslopes Busway. Yvonne Turner celebrates 40 years of service The Ramsay Way - 2014 | 01 17 RAMSAYPEOPLE MOVEMENTS&APPOINTMENTS Mona Randall has recently been appointed Director of Finance at Kareena Private Hospital. Mona has strong background in the field as a commercially and operationally focused senior finance executive offering over 15 years experience built through working in ASX listed companies from a variety of industries that include Retail, Aviation, Manufacturing and non-profit. Mona’s most recent roles held include Financial Controller at Qantas Airways, and Business Development & Review Manager at Medicare Local. Jude Emmer has been appointed to the position of CEO, The Noosa Hospital. Jude brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the role from her past positions within Ramsay including Director of Clinical Services, Greenslopes, Director of Clinical Services, St George Private and in her current role as CEO, Mt Wilga Private Hospital. Jude will commence at Noosa in March. NATIONALSAFETY THE NATIONAL SAFETY TEAM (NST) HAVE RELEASED THEIR FY13 ANNUAL REPORT SAFETY IN JANUARY 2014. THE REPORT IS ALSO LOADED ONTO THE NST INTRANET FOR ALL EMPLOYEES TO ACCESS. THIS YEAR’S REPORT CONTAINS THE NST KPIS FOR THE FIRST TIME. Manager Chanelle McEnallay said facilities could adopt these KPIs in addition to their existing dashboard. “The report also covers all the WHS dedicated activities that occurred in FY13 across the group and highlights the focus on safety that occurs every day in Ramsay,” she said. Westmead Private Hospital volunteer, Jim Juillerat was awarded the ‘Highly Commended’ Volunteer of the Year” in the local area during Australia Day 2014. One of Parramatta’s important traditions each Australia Day is to honour those citizens who have given service to the community above and beyond the call of duty. Yvonne completed her training as a registered nurse at Mareeba Hospital in 1959. Prior to commencing employment at the former Calvary Hospital in 1973, Yvonne worked in a number of locations across north Qld, including Cloncurry, Bundaberg and Mount Molloy. In 1980 Yvonne was appointed as a night duty supervisor and has continued in the supervisory role as an After Hours Nurse Manager ever since. Yvonne’s years of service was recognised at the annual Ramsay Cairns Christmas party, where in addition to being recognised by her colleagues, she received a personal letter from Mr Paul Ramsay. The letter was read out, much to Yvonne’s delight and surprise. Cairns Private Hospital is proud to acknowledge Yvonne’s achievement and thank her for her dedication to the Hospital and the Cairns community. Peninsula Private Hospital congratulates and pays tribute to long standing nurse Dianne Boydle, a volunteer fire fighter, was awarded the Royal Warrant medal, a National Emergency Medal for sustained service and contribution to the community during the devastating Black Saturday bushfires, which was declared a national emergency in 2009.
