A/Prof Mark Pinkham is an experienced radiation oncologist and Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He consults at Icon Cancer Centre North Lakes and Greenslopes and is also a Staff Specialist at the Gamma Knife Centre of Queensland at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

He graduated from The University of Oxford, UK, in 2005 and completed a Masters in Physiological Sciences with a focus on the neurosciences in 2002. Subsequently he completed specialist training in Brisbane in 2014 and then undertook an 18-month Clinical Oncology sub-specialty fellowship in neuro-oncology and intracranial stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) at the world-renowned Christie Hospital, UK.

He has a strong clinical and translational research interest in melanoma and diseases of the central nervous system including brain metastases. He is involved in the conduct and management of a number of studies in these fields, having acquired AU$4.11 million in competitive research funding and grants to date. He is a member of the Scientific Committee within the Co-operative Trials Group for Neuro-Oncology (COGNO), Clinical Lead for the eVIQ brain metastases treatment protocols and Chair of the SRS working group within TROG, which aims to establish universal quality assurance standards for radiosurgery trials across Australia and New Zealand.

He enjoys teaching through his roles as an examiner of radiation oncology trainees at the national level within the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RAZCR) and research supervisor to post-graduate Masters and PhD students at QUT.
