Background & Training
Dr Berhane graduated from the Medical Faculty of Addis Ababa University in 1987. He worked in the Hansenian Welfare Organisation with active involvement at the National Leprosy Control Programme and as a resident of internal medicine. He moved to Australia in 1994 and worked in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney for several years, as a Dermatology Research Registrar, and then completed the required course to gain his Masters in Medicine in Dermatology. This was followed by gaining FRACP practicing exclusively Adult rheumatology with special interests in inflammatory arthritis. Taf is accredited to SCGH and Hollywoood Private Hospital.
He speaks several languages including Tigrinya, Amharic, Italian and a little French and enjoys various sports such as running, soccer and involvement in church related activities.
