PROFILE.

Derek Carr attained his medical degree at the University of The Witwatersrand, South Africa in 1995.

Since migrating to Melbourne in 2000, he completed his orthopaedic training, becoming a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2008.

Derek then spent a year as a consultant within the Southern and Bayside Health Networks before travelling overseas to further consolidate his knowledge in shoulder and knee surgery.

His fellowship training in Northern Italy and Vancouver, Canada covered both open and arthroscopic management of shoulder and knee pathology.

His Canadian experience also provided exposure to the sports orthopaedic management of professional athletes.

Derek has joined the group practice of Peter Hannon and Adrian Trivett and lives locally with his family in the Bayside area.
