Chris Jones attained his medical degree at Monash University in 2000.  He completed his orthopaedic training and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2009.  On completion of his training, Chris spent over a year working as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for both Southern Health and Alfred Health, before travelling overseas to complete a hip and knee fellowship in Halifax, Canada.

Chris has an established practice in hip and knee surgery at Linacre Private Hospital, with clinical interests in:

Total hip replacement, including:

• Muscle sparing direct superior approach,

• Rapid recovery total hip replacement,

• Short stay total hip replacement

Total knee replacement, including:

• Computer assisted knee replacement

• Robotic total knee replacement

• Rapid recovery total knee replacement

• Short stay total knee replacement

Revision hip and knee replacement, including:

• Computer assisted revision total knee replacement

• Complex revision total hip and knee replacement

• Complex acetabular reconstruction surgery

Arthroscopic and reconstructive knee surgery, including:

• All-inside minimally invasive ACL reconstruction

• Internal Brace MCL repair

• All-inside PCL reconstruction

• Multiligament knee reconstruction

Joint preservation surgery, including:

• Meniscal repair surgery

• Cartilage repair and preservation techniques

• Knee joint realignment surgery

• Patellofemoral stabilisation surgery

Chris is part of The Orthopaedic Group and lives locally with his family.  Chris is actively involved in teaching and training, as well as the administration of orthopaedics. He is currently an AOA Victoria Executive Committee member and an AMA Victoria Council member.
