The Ramsay Way 2015 | 03 17 MOVEMENTS & APPOINTMENTS PA U L D A R C Y Paul Darcy has been appointed to the role of CEO/DCS of Strathfield Private Hospital. Paul has most recently been the Director of Clinical Services at Joondalup Health Campus, a position he has held since December 2012 During this time, Paul was heavily involved in the opening and commissioning of Joondalup Private Hospital as part of the recent Joondalup Health Campus redevelopment. Prior to joining Ramsay Health Care, Paul worked for WA Health and held various senior management positions which included Acting Executive Director of Nursing for the Child and Adolescent Health Service and Nursing Director for the Surgical Division at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Paul commenced his Strathfield role in July. L E A - A N N E H OWA R D Lea-Anne Howard has been appointed to the position of Director of Clinical Services at Westmead Private Hospital. Lea-Anne brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of Westmead Private Hospital to the role. S T E P H E N W I G M O R E Stephen Wigmore has joined the Finance team at Westmead Private Hospital as Director of Finance and Administration. Stephen previously worked for Ramsay Internal Audit. A U S T I N W I L L S Austin Wills has been appointed as the CEO of Melbourne-based Linacre Private Hospital. Austin has been the Finance Manager at Westmead Private Hospital since 2012. During this time, he has been an integral and valued member of the Executive Management team at Westmead. Austin made a number of operational changes at Westmead that have benefited (and will continue to benefit) the hospital. Prior to joining Ramsay, Austin worked for Olympus for many years. During his time at Olympus, Austin held various roles, including the position of General Manager of Olympus New Zealand. A L E X B E L C A S T R O Alex Belcastro has been appointed to the role of National Business Development Manager — Ramsay Australia. Alex has worked for an established management advisory firm for the last eight years, the last five of which she was an Associate Director responsible for the design and delivery of over $1b in health care projects. Prior to consulting, Alex worked for an international tier one contractor and developer in the commercial sector. Alex is well regarded for her skills in stakeholder management and consultation. She has in the past worked collaboratively with hospital CEOs, surgeons, clinicians and nursing staff to ensure best project outcomes. She brings specialised experience in master planning and delivery of surgical, critical care and cancer services projects. Alex holds a Masters Degree in Construction Management, as well as a Bachelors of Planning and Design (Property and Construction), from the University of Melbourne. Alex commenced in early October. D U N C A N A P E LT Mr Duncan Apelt has been appointed to the position of Director of Clinical Services at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital. Duncan commenced his career with Ramsay at John Flynn as the Manager of Intensive Care in 2009, before being promoted to the position of Assistant Director of Clinical Services at Greenslopes Private Hospital, a position he has held since 2011. At Greenslopes his portfolio includes managing over 220 acute inpatient beds and emergency treatment bays, and he also oversees a broad range of clinical services including but not limited to General Medical, General Surgical, Plastics, ENT, Orthopaedics, Urology and Oncology. Duncan has a Master of Business Management from Monash University as well as a Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Nursing. E M M A S A L I B A Emma Saliba has been appointed as the new Director of Clinical Services for Waverley Private Hospital, and will commence on Monday 12th October 2015. Emma has been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years; has an MBA and a Masters in Nursing — Critical Care; with many years’ experience working at The Alfred Emergency and Trauma Centre Her career has been in both the public and private sectors – for the past 9 years she has been the Nurse Manager of the Trauma & Orthopaedic unit, at The Alfred Hospital. She has been involved in a number of successful working groups in recent years, including management of the deteriorating patient, falls prevention and pressure injury prevention. LY N N E S I M P S O N Lynne Simpson has been appointed to the position of Group Procurement Manager — Australia. Lynne comes to us from the Little Company of Mary where she has worked as the National Procurement Manager since late 2009. Lynne brings to Ramsay extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management having held senior procurement roles in the Mayne Group, Affinity Healthcare, Symbion Health and most recently at LCM. With over 26 years’ experience in the healthcare market as a registered nurse, medical device company representative, hospital manager/DCS and health procurement specialist Lynne will be an important asset to Ramsay as we embark on our Global Procurement initiatives. A N D R E W T O M E Andrew Tome has been appointed as Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Peel Health Campus. Andrew is a charted accountant and company secretary with 18 years’ experience in commerce. As well as a sound accounting and finance background he has extensive experience in major contracts management. Andrew commenced in June.
