The Ramsay Way 2016 | 01 13 HOSPITALS First Early Pregnancy Clinic St George Private commences its first early pregnancy clinic on site in April – providing a much needed service for women experiencing distressing early pregnancy symptoms such as bleeding nausea, pain and discomfort. The no appointment needed, walk-in clinic will operate from the hospital three mornings a week from 7.30am – 9am. It is one of the first private hospital operated early pregnancy clinics in Sydney. “Early pregnancy is often a time of great anxiety,” says Dr Tony Bushati, Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who will be running the clinic. “Women go through the anxiety and frustration of bleeding and suspected miscarriage, simply unable to get the answers they need at the time they need it most. “This clinic will provide on-site scanning and each early pregnancy clinic consult will include consultation, bloods, onsite ultrasound (but will not include complicated ultra-sound scanning or surgical procedures). A GP referral is recommended but not necessary.  Clinique de l’Union Opens Sport Rehabilitation Centre Ramsay Générale de Santé’s Clinique de L’Union in Toulouse opened an innovative rehabilitation centre in January. The Centre was born from the desire to offer comprehensive treatment to athletes and offers athletes access to a wide range of specialties such as cardiology; orthopaedics; neurosurgery; sports medicine; maxillofacial surgery; podiatry and the expertise of trained professionals with extensive experience in sports medicine. It is a new and unique initiative in the Toulouse region. "We are very pleased and proud to open a center of this nature, with modern facilities, and the support of a team of doctors motivated for athletes of all levels who lacked until now a dedicated structure to support them to a quicker recovery," said Fabrice Derbias, Clinic Director.  The new sport rehabilitation centre at Clinique de l’Union strengthens the Clinique’s reputation in the area for high quality services. Pinehill Hospital doctor drives “Blood in Pee” campaign Mr Nikhil Vasdev, Consultant Urology Surgeon from Ramsay UK’s Pinehill Hospital Hitchin, Hertfordshire has been selected to be a spokesperson for Be Clear on Cancer’s ‘Blood in Pee’ campaign. The campaign is aimed at raising awareness of bladder and kidney cancer symptoms, and encouraging those with symptoms to visit their GP. Mr Vasdev said the blood in pee campaign highlights the importance of seeking medical advice. “Bladder and kidney cancers can cause blood in the pee, hence, it is crucial to raise the importance of recognising the symptoms. “The key is to get a diagnosis quickly, and if either bladder or kidney cancer is diagnosed, patients can have prompt treatment which can improve patient outcomes from the perspective of immediate cure and hopefully improve long term outcomes as well.” The campaign’s key message is 'If you notice blood in your pee, even if it’s ‘just the once’, tell your doctor’. The additional message from the campaign is “look before you flush”. To support this NHS Campaign, Pinehill Hospital has launched a Haematuria clinic enabling patients to see a Consultant, go through a number of tests and checks and receive the results the same day.  10th Birthday celebrations at Bodmin Treatment Centre Ramsay UK’s Bodmin Treatment Centre celebrated its 10th birthday in January 2016.
