Ramsay pledges “I am and I will” for World Cancer Day

February 04, 2021

To mark World Cancer Day, Ramsay Health Care has shared how it is making important forward strides in the fight against cancer, by investing in clinical trials and research and offering comprehensive cancer care services across Australia.

Ramsay Health Care Australia’s CEO, Carmel Monaghan, said World Cancer Day was an important reminder of the need to acknowledge and remember everyone who is impacted by cancer.

“Through raising awareness and investing in research and clinical trials, Ramsay Health Care is making critical progress in the fight against cancer. It is this progress which creates hope and the possibility of life-changing treatments for our patients,” Ms Monaghan said.

The World Cancer Day theme: “I am and I will” encourages us all to think about how we will support the campaign.

Ms Monaghan said Ramsay Health Care delivered cancer services to more than 70,000 Australians every year, supported by a team of highly skilled and compassionate staff.

She has made her own “I am and I will” pledge to coincide with World Cancer Day:

“As CEO, I am totally committed to ensuring our cancer care services are of the highest quality and I will ensure ongoing expansion of clinical trials and investment in research and technology so that we can achieve the best outcomes for our patients.”

Ramsay staff from around Australia have recorded their own “I am and I will” video pledges including:

Matthew Ballarin, Cancer Care Navigator at John Flynn Private Hospital

Beth Osborne, Ward Clerk at Peninsula Private Hospital

Adam Stevenson, CEO of John Flynn Private Hospital
