More mental health services for Western Sydney Northside West Clinic’s brand new 30-bed unit was officially opened by the CEO of Ramsay Australia, Danny Sims, and Mayor of Holroyd, Clr Greg Cummings, in November. The new unit almost doubles the Clinic’s capacity to meet the increasing demand for mental health services in Western Sydney. The Northside Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Anne Mortimer said the $8 million expansion has increased the number of beds to 73 and will enable the hospital to meet the community’s needs for greater access to excellent mental health care. "Northside West Clinic is one of the largest private mental health facilities in Sydney and, coupled with Northside Clinic in Greenwich, has the largest eating disorders and drug and alcohol services in Australia,” Anne said. The $8 million expansion took 10 months to complete and includes: • a new 30-bed wing of single rooms with ensuite bathrooms • 14 psychiatrist consulting suites • expanded dining room with alfresco area • refurbished reception • refurbished day services area; and • additional onsite parking.  Beleura opens new rehabilitation unit Ramsay Health Care has responded to the growing need for more health care services on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula by opening a new rehabilitation unit at Beleura Private Hospital. The 30-bed facility has been operating since July this year, but was formally opened at a ceremony in November. The development was a joint project between Ramsay and the Australian Unity Healthcare Property Trust and with $12 million invested in this latest development. “We are proud to present a terrific new private rehabilitation unit,” said hospital Chief Executive Paul Geddes. “The 30-bed unit for inpatients as well as our day only rehabilitation programs are a welcome addition to the acute health care services Beleura Private Hospital already offers to the community.” The state-of-the-art facility includes a fully equipped gymnasium and hydrotherapy pool, while each patient room has its own ensuite. The inpatient service has been in high demand since July, while the response to the opening of the day only programs last month has also been encouraging.  Ramsay expands in France Ramsay Générale de Santé has received regulatory authorisation from the French Competition Authority to acquire the Hopital Privé Métropole Group (HPM) in Lille.
