MOVEMENTS&APPOINTMENTS Dudley supports local Polo Club The Frances Perry House theatre team participated in the Million Paws Walk held at Albert Park Lake, walking in memory of one of their well-respected staff members Linda Waite who passed away last year after a long battle with bowel cancer. Walking in her memory and pictured here are Joh Pertzel, Anna DiCosmo, Stephanie Molina, Amanda Furlan, Maddison Furlan and our dogs Hattie, Archie, Hazza, Smudge and Polly. Forty participants representing Dudley Private Hospital participated in the Orange Relay for Life this year making the hospital the biggest team registered for the event. The relay went for 18 hours and the Dudley team completed 700 laps or 280 kilometres. Dudley had representatives at the track throughout this time including their mascot Dudley the Dragon. The combined effort raised over $165,567.00 with Dudley Private Hospital raising $4,817.00 thanks to some great fundraising efforts including a head shave by Hospital CEO Trevor Matheson and CSSD staff member Jodie Crossman. Several other staff members had their hair coloured on the day to support the head shave. Some of our fund raising activities included a raffle, taking blood pressures of fellow relayers but by far the best fundraiser was our $5 massages, kindly given by our wonderful Physiotherapist Steph, who raised $155 from 31 massages over a period of 6 straight hours. Dudley Private Hospital was again proud sponsors of The Millamolong Polo Club tournament in March. Millamolong Polo Club president, Andrew Ashton, and an Orthopaedic Surgeon at Dudley, said that the carnival had grown substantially over the past few years. “Statistics show that polo is one of the most dangerous sports on earth and, with a history dating back to 600BC when the first recorded polo match was played, it has to be a sport worth watching.” “We are attracting more people to this great region and on top of showcasing some of the country’s best polo, the club aims to continue the fundraising for the Millamolong Charity Fund which supports CARE Australia and Riding For The Disabled. Millamolong Polo Club has raised over $200,000 since 1998 and remains grateful for the ongoing support from Ramsay Health Care”. FUN&FITNESS
