The Ramsay Way 2016 | 02 5 DEVELOPMENTS Waverley Private Revamp Underway Waverley Private Hospital’s $16 million expansion is taking shape. The revamp is hard to miss at Hospital, with the prefabricated building blocks made off site and craned into place. Two additional operating theatres will be added to the hospital – bringing the total to seven – as well as 32 more private rooms. The reception will get a fresh look and the existing shared patient rooms will be turned into private suites. Chief executive Jill Gleeson said the hospital was expanding its existing range of medical, surgical and maternity services. “With the demolition of the old consulting rooms, over 40 of our specialists have temporarily relocated their consulting to various locations close to the hospital,” she said. “They will move back into brand new on-site consulting suites as soon as they are ready.” Jill said the hospital had played a huge role in the community for more than 45 years. “We are very proud of our team of doctors and staff who have continued to work with us to ensure we minimise the impact on patients during this exciting phase in our history,” she said.  Purpose-built and designed for tailored and specific care, The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre is comprised of 30 private rooms each with an ensuite bathroom; patient recreation areas; clinician support areas; and a gymnasium. An additional level of car parking is also included in the construction of the new Centre. “We are very pleased with not only the new building but also with the highly skilled multidisciplinary team we have recruited for The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre who will enable us to provide excellent clinical care in a comfortable and supportive environment” Masada Private Hospital CEO Lisa Carter said. The Bayside Rehabilitation Centre services include programs in orthopaedic rehabilitation, reconditioning rehabilitation and pain management. The development has taken a little over twelve months during which Masada Private Hospital remained fully operational and hospital staff and ADCO constructions worked closely to minimise the impact of the building works on patients and the community. “Such major work on a busy road cannot occur without some inconvenience and we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to local residents and the community for their patience and understanding during the construction of the Centre” Lisa said.  Prefabricated buildings are craned into place at Waverley Private Hospital.
