GREG BROWN APPOINTED
HEAD OF RAMSAY SIME DARBY
ASIA
The Ramsay Sime Darby (RSD) Board has selected Greg
Brown to be Chief Executive Officer of its operations in
Asia.
Greg replaces Bronte Kumm who finished in this role in
September.
In this role, Greg will have oversight of the operations
of RSD’s seven hospitals and 1 Health Care College (3
Hospitals in Malaysia, 1 Health Care College in Malaysia, 3
hospitals in Indonesia and 1 management contract in the
Maldives) as well as the nursing college in Malaysia. He will
report to the RSD Board which is Chaired by Dato’ Dr Jacob
Thomas.
Greg is currently Operations Executive Manager of Ramsay
Health Care’s Sydney Metropolitan Hospitals, overseeing
the operation of seven high acuity hospitals and four mental
health facilities, a role he has served in since 2015.
Prior to this Greg was the CEO of our North Shore Private
Hospital from 2004 and conjointly served as CEO of
Castlecrag and Hunters Hill Private Hospitals from 2006
and 2013 respectively.
He has extensive experience in health care management,
having worked in the industry for over four decades.
Prior to joining Ramsay Health Care, Greg worked as a
General Manager for Alpha Healthcare, responsible for
the radiology, pathology and general practice division. He
has also worked in a variety of public and private hospitals
throughout New South Wales and Victoria.
He will commence in the role on 1 November 2017.
GROUP CHIEF PEOPLE &
TALENT OFFICER APPOINTED
New CEO Craig McNally has announced his intention to
focus on people development in his new role and to this
end, has appointed Colleen Harris to a new role of Group
Chief People and Talent Officer.
This newly created role, will be responsible for the
development of a talent strategy for Ramsay Health
Care which aligns with the Company’s broader strategy
including mapping of where key expertise will be needed
in the future. Specifically, this position will implement
development pathways and will be responsible for
succession planning for the most senior leaders across our
organisation.
Colleen is a successful Human Resources (HR) executive
with more than 20 years’ experience across a variety
of industries where she was responsible for designing
and implementing talent, diversity, performance and
reward programs linked to both individual and business
performance outcomes. She has served in several senior
executive HR positions reporting to the Group CEOs of
National Australia Bank, Federation Centres and MyState
Limited. She has also held senior HR positions at Crown Ltd
and Yellow Pages.
She holds a Bachelor of Education (Science) from the
University of Melbourne, is a Member of the AICD and a
Fellow of the Australian Human Resources Institute. She is
also a Member of Chief Executive Women and the Society
of Human Resource Management.
Colleen will commence with Ramsay Health Care on
8 January 2018.
DR ANDREW JONES
APPOINTED CEO OF RAMSAY
HEALTH CARE UK
Ramsay Health Care has announced the appointment
of Dr Andrew Jones as CEO of Ramsay Health Care UK,
commencing on 1 January 2018.
Most recently, Andrew has been the Chief Operating
Officer at Nuffield Health where he was responsible for the
delivery of services and standards across that organisation.
He joined Nuffield in 2007 as their first Medical Director
before becoming Managing Director of Wellbeing, leading
the successful growth of Nuffield Health’s broad health and
wellbeing service strategy.
He studied medicine at the University of Leeds and has an
MBA from the University of Cambridge.
Of his appointment, Ramsay Health Care Managing Director
Craig McNally said: “We are delighted that Andrew has
accepted the role and look forward to him commencing
in January. As COO he has been instrumental in ensuring
a high standard of service delivery and quality outcomes
across the Nuffield business as well as overseeing the
successful implementation of Nuffield’s wellness strategy.
“Andrew will bring strong strategic and operational
acumen to our Ramsay UK leadership team, building on the
excellent reputation and culture that has been established
in this business since we entered the UK market in 2007.”
As CEO of Ramsay’s UK business, Andrew joins the Ramsay
Health Care Global Executive team including the CEOs of
Ramsay’s Australian, French and Asian businesses. He will
report to the Managing Director Craig McNally.
Andrew replaces Mark Page who announced earlier this
year that he would be stepping down from his role as CEO
of Ramsay Health Care UK, to return to Australia. Mark has
been CEO for two and a half years overseeing the ongoing
successful operation and growth of Ramsay’s business in
the UK.
“Mark leaves the Company in a solid position and we are
sincerely thankful for his contribution. He will remain as
CEO in the UK until later this year and will continue to work
for Ramsay Health Care on his return to Australia,” said
Craig.
MANAGEMENT CHANGES, RAMSAY AUSTRALIA
With the announcement that Greg Brown will be taking over as CEO of Ramsay Sime Darby (RSD), Ramsay Australia
has announced a redistribution of regional roles in Australia. Malcolm Passmore has been appointed the Operations
Executive Manager NSW. As part of this restructure of the Operations Executive, Greg Hall, Operations Executive
Manager Victoria, will assume responsibility for Albury Wodonga Private Hospital, Murray Valley Private Hospital and
The Border Cancer Centre. Lloyd Hill, Operations Executive Manager Queensland, will assume responsibility for Baringa
Private Hospital. All other NSW Hospitals will fall under the responsibility of Malcom in his new role.
