The Avenue Private Hospital
opens new Development
6 The Ramsay Way 2017 | 03
The Avenue Hospital officially
open its redevelopment and
expansion in August.
In an ambitious Australian-first, and possibly worldfirst
project, modules were shipped in in 37 parts and
craned in to create a three storey expansion. This is
the first time theatres have been built and delivered
this way; not only allowing for a huge time saving
benefit but the advantage of being able to build in a
small footprint residential area.
The expansion includes three new theatres, a new
day procedure unit with expanded waiting areas and
departure lounge, six new rooms, a new theatre tea
room, expanded male and female change rooms.
One of the new theatres is the first fully 4K theatre in
Australia.
The expansion also houses an expanded CSSD, 21
bay recovery unit and expanded main reception.
The Northside Group
marked a major milestone
in the construction of
its new St Leonards
Clinic, with a topping out
ceremony in July.
The practice of "topping
out" a new building can
be traced to the ancient
Scandinavian religious
rite of placing a tree
atop a new building to
appease the tree-dwelling
spirits displaced in its
construction.

Director Peter Klug, National Development Manager Alex Belcastro and Ramsay Australia
