Cairns Private Hospital staff have helped protect thousands of local residents from COVID-19, during a three-week stint volunteering at the Cairns Convention Centre Vaccination Hub.
More than 60 Ramsay Health Care team members, from clinical and non-clinical backgrounds, assisted at the Cairns Hub, administering approximately 6,000 Pfizer vaccinations.
Cairns Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Ben Tooth said the team displayed wonderful community spirit and professionalism.
“Our Cairns Private Hospital staff didn’t hesitate to answer the call to arms to assist at the vaccination hub and worked seamlessly with the Queensland Health team to support this important cause,” Mr Tooth said.
“It was great to see our Ramsay staff helping at the hub for three weeks, highlighting their commitment to keep the Cairns community safe and protected from COVID-19.”
Ramsay Health Care is continuing to support the pandemic response across Australia. More than 700 staff members have volunteered to assist with Vaccination Hubs, Telehealth, special health accommodation, public hospitals and community health sites.
