Most of the content has been drawn from The Ramsay Way issues over the last year, peppered with other stories and pointers of what is to come. As I say in the introduction of the report, Australia’s health care system is a dynamic and ever-changing environment. In order to ensure that we continue to meet the changing needs of our patients and customers, technology remains one of the key factors to our success. Our agenda includes the modernisation of the workplace; the provision of better decision-making information; and making technology tools easier to access and use. We are fortunate to partner with a large network of highly qualified and sought-after medical specialists who continually bring new expertise and surgical techniques to our facilities. This report highlights many examples of how patient safety and clinical outcomes have been improved using cutting-edge technology, several of which are an Australian first. This includes the Deep Brain Stimulation procedure using an intra-operative CT scanner, and the first use of the ExcelsuisGPS Robotic Navigation Platform in the Southern Hemisphere to improve spinal surgery outcomes.

In order to develop the technology journey upon which we have embarked, we will continue to grow our investment in cutting edge medical technology, support clinical research studies, upgrade our systems, and introduce new ways to help our employees and doctors in their daily work lives.
