Ramsay Pharmacy is helping Australians stay safe while they protect our planet this ‘Clean Up Australia Day’ offering free hand sanitiser to 80,000 volunteers.
Ramsay Pharmacy CEO, Greg Kennedy, said he was proud to support the nation's largest community-based environmental event.
“Keeping people and our planet safe is so important, which is why we’re proud to support Clean Up Australia Day with free 500 ml hand sanitiser available to volunteers,” Mr Kennedy said.
“It’s crucial to stay healthy and sanitise your hands regularly when cleaning to reduce the growth of harmful bacteria.
“We’ve all become much more conscious of our health and safety over the past two years, but it’s not just COVID-19 that we need to be thinking about. If you’re out picking up rubbish, we recommend wearing gloves if you can and making sure you sanitise your hands straight after.”
Ramsay Pharmacy will have teams participating in Clean Up Australia Day events in Brisbane and Melbourne.
Mr Kennedy said Ramsay Pharmacy is committed to Ramsay Health Care’s sustainability strategy which focuses on creating stronger communities, healthier people and a thriving planet.
“The benefits of environmental protection for current and future generations are clear and we want to take practical steps to assist,” he said.
“Ramsay Pharmacy team members are also making pledges to reduce our impact on the environment. We wanted to inspire others to join us in our goal of making a difference by sharing a pledge and tagging @CleanUpAustralia and #StepUptoCleanUp.”
“My personal pledge this year is to only use a reusable drink bottle, which is aligned with Ramsay Health Care’s broader pledge to cease using single use plastic water bottles in our facilities.”
