Ramsay Health Care is celebrating its dedicated team of pharmacists who have played a crucial role in vaccinating thousands of Australians against COVID-19.
Across the Ramsay Pharmacy network, pharmacists have administered more than 4,000 AstraZeneca vaccines at 50 pharmacies since July. That number is set to surge when Moderna vaccinations commence at 29 Ramsay Pharmacies from this Monday 27 September.
On the eve of World Pharmacists Day, Chief Operating Officer Michelle Lynch said it was a timely opportunity to thank the team for their dedication and commitment to their communities.
“Our pharmacists and customer service team have demonstrated resilience and professionalism throughout the entire COVID-19 pandemic, not only co-ordinating and administering vaccines but also continuing to help and care for our customers with their medication or health care needs,” Ms Lynch said.
"This is a really exciting time for the Ramsay Pharmacy Group as we are about to begin the next phase of the vaccination roll out with Moderna. Anyone wanting to get vaccinated should jump on our website and make an appointment.”
New South Wales and Victoria residents aged 12 - 59 are eligible to receive the Moderna vaccine. In Queensland it is available for all people aged over 12.
This year, World Pharmacists Day is celebrated on Saturday 25th September, to acknowledge the trusted role pharmacists play in the health care sector. For many years, pharmacists have consistently been named among the top five most trusted professionals in national surveys.
“In addition to our in-store vaccination rates, we’ve also had 23 Ramsay pharmacists volunteer at Vaccination Hubs in New South Wales and Queensland. They’re on the frontline, helping to improve health outcomes and facilitate economic recovery. I’m very proud and privileged to be part of the Ramsay Pharmacy team,” Ms Lynch said.
