More than 1,750 ground-breaking health research projects being conducted at Ramsay Health Care sites across Australia have been recognised at the start of Ramsay Research Month 2023.
Launching the four-week celebration of research success, Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation CEO, Nicola Ware, said more than 550 Ramsay doctors, nurses and allied health employees were involved in projects to find new treatments, medicines, therapies, and devices that would provide better healthcare for all Australians.
“We are proud to play a leading role in Australia’s health and medical research sector,” Ms Ware said.
“We are extremely appreciative of the hundreds of dedicated researchers and thousands of volunteer patients who are involved with a range of vital investigations and clinical trials.”
Ramsay’s Clinical Trials Network supports 250 high quality trials, focussing on cancer, mental health, orthopaedics and cardiology.
“The number of clinical trials we support has increased 11 per cent this year and we consistently receive requests for research support,” Ms Ware said.
“We are delighted to highlight the critical role of health and medical research in supporting healthier communities and celebrate the incredible advancements being to improve patient outcomes.”
