Ramsay has a long standing history of supporting Australians with cancer and is currently the largest private provider of Oncology services in Australia. Ramsay offers cancer treatment in more than fifty of its facilities, supporting more than 50,000 patients per year.

Ramsay Health Care’s Service Line Director for Cancer Care, Jonny Cotton, said he looks forward to partnering with the government on the implementation of The Australian Cancer Plan to ensure even better cancer outcomes for future generations.

“We are particularly pleased with the plan’s focus on equity of care for all Australians. As Australia’s largest private hospital operator, with facilities around the country including in many regional and rural communities, we have long been committed to providing leading health care for all Australians, no matter where they live,” Mr Cotton said.

“Australia currently has one of the highest cancer survival rates in the world, however, we know they can be better.”

Since 2017, Ramsay Health Care has been investing in cancer research via the Ramsay Hospital Research Foundation. Ramsay continues to build its clinical trial network, currently offering patients access to 250 cancer clinical trials across 20 locations. Recently funded research includes a study on the development of a ‘Brain Cancer Registry’. The project aims to build a Registry to deliver equitable care for all Australian brain cancer patients, regardless of where they live. 

“Ramsay Health Care is committed to working with the Australian Government on the priorities of The Australian Cancer Plan and easing the burden on Australia’s cancer patients, their families and carers,” Mr Cotton said.
