Ramsay’s Chief Nurse named a frontline hero for exceptional leadership during pandemic

April 30, 2021

Ramsay Health Care Australia’s Chief Nurse, Dr Bernadette Eather, has been named a frontline hero at the Women’s Agenda Leadership Awards for 2021.

As co-leader of our COVID-19 Response Team, Dr Eather has received this award for her role navigating Ramsay Health Care Australia’s COVID-19 pandemic response from a clinical perspective.

This has included leading the creation and implementation of hundreds of guidelines, policies, risk assessments, tools and checklists to keep all our patients, employees, doctors and visitors safe and protected in our facilities.

Dr Eather said: “I believe that health care is the greatest demonstration of team work, and it took an amazing team to respond to this pandemic. I am incredibly thrilled and humbled to receive this award, and immeasurably proud of the work Ramsay did to keep our staff, doctors and patients safe.”

Ramsay Health Care Australia CEO, Carmel Monaghan, said: “Berni has continued to lead our teams with unwavering commitment, professionalism and dedication through a very challenging and unprecedented year.”

“I’m delighted Berni has been recognised in this way. She consistently embodies our Ramsay Way culture and personifies our company philosophy of ‘people caring for people’.”

The 2021 Women’s Agenda leadership Awards celebrated how women have defined the past year and also elevated ‘emerging’ leaders who achieve results by leading teams, businesses and agendas in a way that is collaborative, compassionate and courageous.
