Nurses and midwives wanting to expand their career into management roles can now apply for the first leadership course under Ramsay Health Care Australia’s exciting new range of professional development programs.
Applications are now open for the inaugural Ramsay Nursing Leaders of Tomorrow program which is designed to support the personal leadership growth of our nurses and midwives.
The 12-month program will begin in July, and will include monthly workshops, one-on-one coaching and a Ramsay Healthcare Nursing Leaders’ Conference in September 2021.
Chief Nurse Dr Bernadette Eather said 20 applicants will be chosen for the program, and current Nurse Unit Managers, Midwifery Unit Managers and other nurse managers can apply.
“This is a prestigious professional development program for our emerging leaders and we want to support them with a formal upskilling course to help them reach their goals of becoming Directors of Clinical Services,” Dr Eather said.
“Details on how to apply can be found online, and applicants will need to have the support of their managers and provide a 2-minute video on why they would be a good fit for this course.”
The Ramsay Nursing Leaders of Tomorrow program is the first of four programs to be made available to nurses and midwives this year. The Ramsay Nursing Fellowship for new graduate nurses, Back to the Bedside aimed at streamlining process, and a Directors of Clinical Services Induction and Mentorship programs will be rolled out in the coming months.
Chief Executive Officer Carmel Monaghan said she was looking forward to seeing how Ramsay’s nurses and midwives develop through these programs in the coming years.
“As I’ve been visiting our hospitals around Australia, our nurses and midwives have been telling me they want more education. We have listened and I’m thrilled to be rolling out the first of the four new professional development programs this year,” Ms Monaghan said.
Nurses and midwives who are interested in the Nursing Leaders of Tomorrow course need to apply before 18th June. Applicants will then be selected by late June with the program beginning in July 2021.
