Redland City to become home to a new, $16 million, purpose-built surgical centre by Ramsay Health Care

Redland City residents needing surgery will soon have more options close to home with Australia’s largest private hospital operator, Ramsay Health Care, announcing it would open a new, $16 million surgical centre in Cleveland.
The proposed Ramsay Surgical Centre Cleveland is designed to offer the Redlands community access to gold standard clinical services in a purpose built, world-class surgical facility with an emphasis on digitisation, offering the latest technology to enhance the patient experience.
Ramsay Surgical Centres CEO, Claire Thurwood, said: “Ramsay Health Care is excited to provide the community access to a new surgical centre that will allow locals access to high-quality health care outside the traditional hospital setting.
“The Ramsay Surgical Centre will focus on day surgery, working with some of Queensland’s leading doctors and utilising advanced technology to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
“This centre will offer a new alternative for privately insured patients and an affordable option for self-insured patients.
“For Redland City residents this should take some of the stress out of their surgeries, knowing they’re close to home and only have a short commute following their procedure.”
Ramsay Surgical Centre Cleveland will include three purpose-built surgical theatres and offer a comprehensive range of specialities, including Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Endoscopy, ENT, Urology, Plastic Surgery and Gynaecology.
Ramsay Surgical Centre Cleveland will be located in the new Cleveland Health Hub, under development by Real Asset Management (RAM), located at 19-22 Middle Street, Cleveland.

Ramsay Surgical Centre Cleveland is due to be operational by late 2025 and follows Ramsay Health Care’s recent acquisition of the former Orange Private Hospital, to be renamed Ramsay Surgical Centre Orange, demonstrating Ramsay’s ongoing investment in the day surgery sector.
