Scholarships are now open for young LGBTQIA+ Australian students looking for financial assistance to support their fulltime study, including The Ramsay Health Care Scholarship which will be awarded to an aspiring medical worker.
The scholarships are awarded by Australia’s leading LGBTQIA+ education charity, The Pinnacle Foundation. In 2023, Ramsay Health Care signed on as a Gold Partner of The Pinnacle Foundation, promising scholarship support for three years.
Ramsay’s Chief Risk Officer and Legal Services Director, and Chair of the company’s Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Committee, Chanelle McEnallay, said: “I am excited to learn who will be awarded the first Ramsay Health Care Scholarship which will help them continue on their journey to reach their full potential.”
“We specifically requested our scholarship support someone in the medical industry, in the hope that we can potentially provide additional, non-financial support as they continue their education.
“I’d love to be able to offer this student mentoring support and even help with work placements and perhaps one day they can come and work with us in the future!
“Ramsay’s Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Committee is committed to seeking opportunities to support medical and health care professionals to overcome challenges arising from their identity.
“In Australia we operate more than 70 facilities, employing more than 30,000 people. Our aim is to have a workforce as diverse as the communities we operate in.”
Scholarship applications for fulltime study at public universities and TAFEs commencing in 2025 are now open until 31 August 2024. To find out more, visit Apply for a Scholarship - Pinnacle Foundation.
