Dr Paresh Ramjee is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, with more than 20 years of clinical experience in Australia and South Africa.
After completing his medical internship in South Africa, he was encouraged by his professors to pursue a career in Psychiatry. Psychiatry was always close to his heart and he enjoyed every aspect of his training.
He completed his post graduate psychiatric training in Pretoria and Australia. He worked in academia for a few years before going into full-time private practice and research at one of the largest private psychiatric hospitals in Pretoria. His research covered new psychiatric treatment modalities and therapeutic interventions in various disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety and schizophrenia.
Paresh has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders across different age groups. His special interest is in mood disorders, anxiety (including PTSD), veterans’ health, neuropsychiatry disorders and TMS. Paresh has in-depth knowledge of the various treatment modalities and therapies used to aid patient recovery.
Through his acquired knowledge, experience and skills in the diagnosis of a broad range of psychiatric disorders, he is able to provide best treatment options, both psychological and pharmacological, to his patients in a holistic way.
