Dr Morrey is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeonwith interests in acute trauma, including acute sports injury, post-traumatic limb reconstruction, pelvic and acetabular surgery, hip and knee arthroplasty, including primary and revision surgery, as well as spinal surgery.

Dr Morrey is currently the President of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He is currently the Chairperson of the Audit and Risk Committee, Rural Surgeons Committee, Subspecialty Committee and the immediate past Chair of the Cultural and Diversity Committee of the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He is a current examiner for the fellowship exam of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

Past chairperson of the Specialist Clinical and Advisory group.

He is an Associate Professor of James Cook University.
