About
Dr Alice Dobinson is a gynaecologist who enjoys caring for women across a broad range of gynaecological concerns. A North Queenslander herself, Alice grew up in Ravenshoe and also Magnetic Island. Alice studied medicine at James Cook University and completed her specialist training in Townsville, Brisbane and Cairns. She has a strong connection to Far North Queensland and is passionate about providing high-quality gynaecological care to women throughout Cairns and the wider region.
Alice has a particular interest in heavy menstrual bleeding, post menopausal bleeding and menstrual disorders, and enjoys helping women navigate perimenopause, menopause and beyond. She also has an interest in cervical screening abnormalities and colposcopy, and enjoys managing Mirena insertion, including more technically challenging insertions.
Pelvic organ prolapse is another important area of Alice’s practice. She enjoys helping women find practical ways to feel as comfortable and confident as possible, offering conservative management including vaginal pessaries where appropriate, as well as surgical management when this is the best option.
Alice welcomes referrals for a wide range of gynaecological concerns across all stages of life. Her approach is practical, individualised and evidence-based, with an emphasis on helping women understand their options and make decisions that suit their own priorities and circumstances.
Outside medicine, Alice enjoys spending time with family and friends and making the most of the North Queensland outdoors.
Dr Alice will be providing outpatient appointments and surgical care through the Ramsay facilities.
