Clinical Practice

Dr. Willy Low is a Specialist General Surgeon concentrating in elective and emergency general surgery with a particular focus on benign upper gastrointestinal pathology and bariatric surgery.

Emphasizing the importance of clear communication and a patient-centered approach, Dr. Low delivers services to patients in Perth metro, northern and western suburbs following his relocation back to Perth from Albany. Despite his move, he remains dedicated to serving regional patients in Albany and Katanning, maintaining regular visits to both regional hospitals. He also holds an appointment at Rockingham General Hospital. 

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Willy Low holds an academic appointment at Curtin Medical School, where he serves as a Clinical Dean and Senior Lecturer, contributing to medical education and research.

Background and Training

Originally from Malaysia, Dr. Willy Low relocated to Perth in 2003. After completing medical school at the University of WA, he underwent internship and residency at Royal Perth Hospital. Dr. Low completed his surgical training in Western Australia before pursuing a two-year fellowship in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery in Sydney.

Upon the opportunity to return to Western Australia, Dr. Low and his family moved to Albany and the Great Southern area, where he served the local regional community for several years. 

Willy is a Fellow of RACS, Member of General surgeons Australia, a Member of ANZGOSA, Member of ANZMOSS and a Member of GESA.
