Dr Greg Janes is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with a focus on arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee and hip with a focus on hip replacement and gluteal tendon repair, ACL and knee replacement and shoulder replacement, rotator cuff stabilisation.

Background & Training

Dr. Janes underwent comprehensive training in Orthopaedic surgery, both in the United Kingdom and Perth, achieving his Orthopaedic Fellowship in 1994. Building on his foundational expertise, he further honed his skills through a specialized fellowship in upper limb surgery under the mentorship of Dr. Hales and Honey. His dedication to the field extended to academia, where Dr. Janes served as a Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedic Surgery with the University of Western Australia for a notable 4-year period. Additionally, he contributed significantly as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital, dedicating 8 years to providing expert care. Dr. Janes has actively participated in the governance of orthopaedic practices, representing Western Australia on the Board of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. Currently serving as the Chair for the WA branch, he plays a pivotal role in advancing orthopaedic standards and practices in the region. Dr. Janes served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery for an impressive decade. His multifaceted experience reflects a commitment to excellence in patient care, education, and advancing the broader field of orthopaedic surgery.
