Clinical Practice:

Dr Sharma is a Specialist Paediatric Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist that has a focus in meeting the needs of every child by providing high quality paediatric care under a single management team. He is a registered known-gap provider and offers telehealth consultations for rural GPs and their patients.

Dr Sharma is located at Joondalup Private Hospital, Joondalup Health Campus and Hollywood Private Hospital and consults from his rooms in West Leederville. He offers 24-hour pH studies for children with reflux and deals with all paediatric gastroenterology issues, including constipation, nausea, chronic abdominal pain and liver issues. Paediatric patients requiring endoscopy and colonoscopy can now have these procedures performed on Saturdays at Hollywood Private Hospital.

Background & Training:

After completing his paediatric specialty training through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Melbourne and Perth, Dr Sharma undertook further sub specialty training in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology at The Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, Perth.

He subsequently finished clinic fellowship in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology from the hospital for sick children, University of Toronto in Toronto Canada. He is a member of the North American Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition(NASPGHAN), and the Gastroenterology Society of Australia (GESA).

Dr Sharma is also accredited by conjoint committee for recognition of training in gastrointestinal endoscopy to perform endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy) for children of all ages.
