About
Dr Fiona Nicholson is a consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with a clinical interest in gastrointestinal problems in women, colorectal cancer prevention and familial cancer.
She trained at Melbourne University for her undergraduate training and subsequent specialty training in Gastroenterology at Monash Medical Centre.
She has a PhD from Monash University titled “ The prevention of bowel cancer in an Australian population”. She has done further post graduate training in anorectal physiology and inflammatory bowel disease in London at St Marks and Royal Free Hospitals.
Fiona has an appointment at Southern Health as a visiting medical specialist and attends clinics, ward rounds and endoscopy lists there.
Fiona is a councilor on the board of The Gut Foundation. She is a member of the AMA and GESA.
