Dr Farjo is a well-established Gynaecologist in the Eastern Suburbs with over a decade of experience. In her practice, she deals extensively with a broad range of complex gynaecological disorders, with a special interest in the management of abnormal uterine bleeding, endometriosis, pelvic floor prolapse and incontinence.
Dr Farjo is a pioneer in the use of the Diode laser for the hysteroscopic resection of uterine fibroids, polyps, uterine septa and caesarean scar defects. She also specialises in the management of cervical incompetence utilising a specialised technique of trans-vaginal upper cervical cerclage.
She is a leading Robotic surgeon in her field at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital and plans to extend this service to her patients at North Shore Private Hospital.
Having obtained postgraduate qualifications in obstetric and gynaecological imaging, Dr Farjo is also an ultrasound specialist currently practicing at the Royal Hospital for Women and Randwick Women’s Imaging. The unique combination of advanced surgical and imaging skills allows Dr Farjo to provide the highest standard of management for women with complex gynaecological conditions.
Dr Farjo completed her specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Liverpool Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Women in 2011. After concluding her fellowship training, and prior to starting her own private practice, Dr Farjo joined the Women’s Health and Research Institute of Australia where she spent three years working alongside Professor Thierry Vancaillie. This post-fellowship experience equipped her in the management of patients with chronic pelvic pain and a variety of complex gynaecological conditions, particularly Asherman’s Syndrome.
She is currently a staff specialist at the Royal Hospital for Women, both as a Gynaecologist and an Ultrasound Specialist. There, she is a key member of the urogynaecology department and has a leading role in the hospital’s pelvic floor service. She is also a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at the Prince of Wales Private Hospital.
Dr Farjo is greatly involved in the teaching and training of junior doctors and medical students. She is a training supervisor of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology training program. Her research focus is on the use of the Diode laser in surgery and hysteroscopy.
Dr Farjo resides with her family in the lower North Shore, and after many years of training and working in the Eastern Suburbs, she has decided to extend her practice to the North Shore area.
Dr Farjo’s caring, warm and insightful approach ensures all patients receive a sound diagnosis and comprehensive management plan within a friendly and understanding environment. Her wholistic approach to treatment has left her comfortable with non-surgical and surgical approaches, collaborating with other specialists and allied health professionals to offer the best possible treatment for her patients.
