Dr Sean Williams is an orthopaedic surgeon with an interest in surgery of the hip, including hip preservation and hip replacement surgery.
Dr Williams places great importance on taking the time to understand each patient's specific diagnosis and functional goals in order to create a personalised treatment plan, tailored to each patient's expectations.
Dr Williams prides himself on excellent and friendly communication with his patients, their families and their healthcare team, including GPs and physiotherapists, to ensure that the diagnosis and treatment plan is clear to all involved.
Dr Williams also understands that in many cases, surgery isn’t the first or the best answer, and works closely with patients’ rehabilitation providers to ensure an optimal recovery, with or without surgery.
Background & Training
Dr Williams is an Australian-trained orthopaedic surgeon, who undertook 5 years of extensive surgical training in regional and metropolitan NSW. This included training under local experts across many of Sydney’s most well regarded hospitals including Royal North Shore, St Vincents, Royal Prince Alfred and Westmead Children’s Hospitals as well as regional centres such as Canberra, Tweed Heads and Dubbo.
After qualification as an orthopaedic surgeon with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, Dr Williams moved to Perth, Western Australia, to seek out further sub-specialist training with high-volume hip preservation and arthroplasty surgeons, with the goal of being able to provide his patients with a wider array of modern treatment techniques.
Having trained in the management of both adult and paediatric hip conditions, Dr Williams enjoys accepting referrals for patients of all ages.
