Dr Cass is an Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in shoulder and elbow surgery and in arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement. After training at Sydney University and the Australian Orthopaedic Association Training Scheme, he undertook the American Board Exams and completed post-fellowship training in 2005 at The Mayo Clinic. Dr Cass is on the Board of the Institute of Bone and Joint Research at Sydney University and director of Sydney Shoulder Research Institute. He is an active researcher and has numerous publications in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery.

Dr Cass trains 2 overseas surgeons each year via a Fellowship based at Royal North Shore Hospital and is regularly invited to speak at conferences and lead workshops both in Australia and overseas. Since 2010 Dr Cass has been a design surgeon developing new shoulder replacement systems and training surgeons around the world in shoulder replacement.

Dr Cass has practiced at North Shore Private, Royal North Shore and The Mater Hospitals since 2006 and participates in the on-call roster at Royal North Shore Hospital dealing with complex orthopaedic trauma and reconstruction. He also visits Dubbo every 8 weeks to provide specialist services to rural patients.

In his spare time Dr Cass loves spending time with his wife, their 3 children and dog, Charlie.
