Kelly is a foundation member of Brisbane Knee and Sports Surgery - a group established to manage all aspects of sports surgery. Kelly deals exclusively in knee & shoulder injuries.

Kelly completed his medical degree at University of Queensland in 1995 and then entered advanced training in Orthopaedics and gained his FRACS in 2003. After spending time as a staff surgeon at the Prince Charles Hospital and Redcliffe General Hospital, he embarked on an overseas post-graduate fellowship training in Shoulder and Knee surgery both in the United Kingdom and Canada.

Kelly was responsible for establishing the first dedicated shoulder unit at the Prince Charles Hospital. Kelly consults and operates at North West Private Hospital.

In addition to his clinical practice, Kelly is active in medico-legal reporting and is registered with the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. He is a certified independent medical examiner.  Kelly is currently the QLD chair of the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a senior lecturer in Orthopaedics at the University of Queensland. Kelly is the Treasurer and Secretary of the QLD Shoulder Society.

Kelly consults on-site at North West Specialist Centre and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital, Brisbane. He operates at North West Private Hospital and St Andrew’s War Memorial Hospital.
