Dr Liaw is a fully qualified Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. He graduated from the University of New South Wales with Honours. He was trained as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in Sydney and gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2001 and is a fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association. 

Dr Liaw has an intestest in shoulder, hip and knee reconstructive surgery performing joint replacements, shoulder and knee surgery. He has previously worked with various well-known shoulder, hip and knee surgeons in Sydney teaching hospitals. He has attended various shoulder, hip and knee meetings. He also sees patients with elbow problems, simple hand and wrists problems such as ganglion cysts, lumps, carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s contractures, and fractures of upper and lower limbs.

Dr Liaw has been practicing as an Orthopaedic Surgeon in the Port Macquarie area for the past 18 years. He works at the Port Macquarie Private Hospital, Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Kempsey District Hospital and Wauchope District Hospital.
