Dr Snyman graduated as dux of The King’s School in 1995. He graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) with Honours in 2001. His resident years were at Tamworth Base Hospital in North Western NSW near his home town of Scone NSW.
He gained broad experience in orthopaedic registrar appointments in 2005-6 and completed his advanced training in 2010 after training in many NSW hospitals including:
He commenced work as an Orthopaedic Specialist in Tamworth from 2011 to 2013 and then moved to Port Macquarie to join Dr Bill Cumberland in his transition to retirement. He has interest in hip and knee replacement including revision surgery, sports knee surgery including ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair.
He performs 120-150 knee replacements and 80-100 hip replacements per year.
He has a Public Hospital appointment at Port Macquarie Base Hospital, Wauchope District Hospital and Kempsey District Hospital. He is a Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW. Dr Snyman is a trainee supervisor for the Australian Orthopaedic Association trainees in Port Macquarie and term supervisor for the Orthopaedic Junior Medical Officers (JMOs). He is chair of the general clinical training committee (GCTC). Dr Snyman regularly attends cadaver labs and advanced skills courses. He also visits experts in the field to ensure his techniques and non-surgical options remain up to date.
