Dr Cavada is an Australian-Brazilian Specialist Otolaryngologist with an interest in general adult and paediatric ENT conditions. She has completed a Clinical Research Fellowship in Rhinology at St Vincent’s Centre for Applied Medical Research, University of New South Wales. Having published important papers in the field of Ear, Nose and Throat, Dr Cavada underwent further Australian ENT training at Macquarie University Hospital and Sydney Adventist Hospital and obtained the Australian Fellowship certificate in ENT (Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck surgeon). She also completed additional sub-specialized training in advanced nose and sinus disorders (rhinology) which focuses on the management of paediatric and adult disorders including sino-nasal and allergic conditions.
Prior to becoming an Australian citizen, Dr Cavada obtained her Medical degree at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil. She completed her internship at Hospital Conceicao, one of the major public hospitals located in Porto Alegre. She also completed a Post-Graduate Certificate in Family Health as a Resident doctor and worked for the Brazilian government under a rural health care scheme. Dr Cavada completed her ENT training in Brazil at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, PUCRS, Porto Alegre, and obtained her Brazilian fellowship in ENT.
Dr Cavada has undergone multiple courses in the ENT field ensuring that she is up to date with the latest advancements in ENT. She annually participates in conferences and is a senior clinical lecturer at Macquarie University where she is actively involved in teaching and research.
She is an active member of the Australian Medical Association (AMA), Australasian Association of Otolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons (ASOHNS), Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), Brazilian Medical Association (CREMERS), and Brazilian Association of Otolaryngologist, Head and Neck Surgeon (ABORL).
