Dr Manoharan is a general surgeon with experience in laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. He completed his initial medical training in Sri Lanka and obtained his MBBS from Jaffna University and undertook further advanced surgical training, first obtaining his Master of Surgery (MS) from the Sri Lankan College of Surgeons, followed by a fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, Scotland (FRCSEd). Upon arrival in Australia, Dr Manoharan worked in various hospitals throughout Queensland, Tasmania and New South Wales and underwent further advanced training at many hospitals including the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and obtained his fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS). With over thirty years of surgical experience, he is passionate about passing on his knowledge and skills and is actively involved in the registrar teaching at Auburn Hospital in order to facilitate training of the next generation of young surgeons. He also has a teaching position at the University of Notre Dame. Dr Manoharan aims to provide a high-quality service to all of his patients so that there is a positive and measurable difference in their quality of life. He is always looking for ways to improve the surgical outcomes for his patients using innovations and advancements in his area of expertise.
