Waverley Private Hospital would like to introduce Dr Weng Chan an experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist with further interest in fertility.
As a specialist obstetrician and Gynaecologist involved with fertility management with Melbourne IVF, Weng is able to offer complete care in all aspects of women’s health, from pregnancy planning, menstrual and pain management to assisted reproduction (including IVF at Melbourne IVF), antenatal care as well as care beyond the reproductive years.
Weng is a specialist consultant at Monash Health working in both the Monash gynaecology endoscopy unit as well as the urogynaecology or pelvic floor unit. He is also involved in the Menstrual disorder’s clinics at Monash Medical Centre. He performs advanced laparoscopic and urogynaecology operating lists at the various Monash Health sites, including Monash Medical Centre, Moorabbin, Dandenong, and Casey Hospital. Weng trains junior doctors in surgical skills and teaches at the Monash Medical Centre advanced laparoscopic preceptorship training courses for other obstetric and gynaecological specialists. Weng is also a final year medical student supervisor at Monash University.
Weng graduated in medicine from Monash University in 1999. Having a special interest in Women’s Health and minimally invasive surgery, he completed his specialist Obstetric and gynaecology training at Monash Medical Centre. Following that, he went on to also complete further training in advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgery with the Monash gynaecological endosurgery unit and pelvic reconstructive surgery with the Monash urogynaecology unit.
He consults at various sites in Melbourne and aims to provide a high calibre service to his patients. He is kind, compassionate and informative. He believes in working together with his patients to provide the best possible care for them. His patients appreciate his calm and reassuring bedside manner, which helps them feel at ease during appointments and procedures. He works along with his experienced midwifery and nursing team in his rooms to also provide multi-lingual and holistic care for his patients.
